The Course Import Tool makes it easy to extract course content, assignments, and quizzes from previous semesters or other courses and quickly import them into existing courses.

To import content from one course into another, go to the course you wish to import content in and click on Settings.

Choose Copy a Canvas Course option.

Select the course you would like to import from by either using the dropdown or typing in the course title or course code (e.g. CIE-100-A) into the box next to the dropdown. Choose either to copy the entire course or to select specific content. Then click Import.

You can adjust due dates at this time if you prefer or you can wait and adjust the due dates once the course is copied.

Once the course is imported, if you chose to only import specific content, click on the Select Content option and choose the content you wish to import. The content you choose will automatically be added to the appropriate place within the course.

Note: If you only have a few pieces of content that you wish to import, consider using the Copy To feature instead. To do this, go to the original course (not the current one), click on the three dots next to the item, and choose Copy To. Select the course you wish to copy it to.
