Sign Up for a Group and Submit a Group Assignment

Some professors will assign you to groups in Canvas so you can submit an assignment as a group, or they will allow you to sign up for your own groups. If the instructor gives you the option of signing up for your own group, follow these instructions:

Joining a Group in Canvas

1) Go to the course and click on People.

2) Select the Groups tab (1). Do NOT click on +Group.

3) Click Join next to the name of the group you wish to join.

Submitting a Group Assignment

Only one group member needs to submit the assignment for everyone. Follow the same procedure as you would when submitting an individual assignment.

Before submitting the assignment, you can leave a comment to just your instructor or to your instructor and all your group members.
